SO, so, so much more than a simple laptop sleeve.
Simply put, I cannot recommend this Philips HeatProtect 15.4" (actually up to 15.6" but we'll get to that later) sleeve enough.
Up to today, I had two peripherals for my laptop yet to buy. A sleeve/case for taking my laptop out and about, and till now I have struggled to find one that fits my 15.6" laptop, and a heat protecting laptop tray for at home...to sit my laptop on, on top of my knees, so I don't cover the fan vents and overheat my valuable computer. When I saw this for sale in a local shop, I couldn't believe my luck. It is both a sleeve and a heat protecting tray all-in-one.
But it is so much more than that. Apart from the incredibly stylish looks, there are some very real practical considerations gone into this product. The hard tray/top, the aluminium strip across the top acting as a heatsink/disperser, the hidden compartment for cables or other (not too bulky) peripherals, the hidden handle...something so many sleeves on the market fail to give you...and the incredibly soft/protective interior. Someone at Philips has paid this a lot of thought. And I for one can't thank them enough. It's an inspired design.
As regards the 15.4" advertised size, well I can tell you that my laptop is a 15.6"...and a pretty bulky 15.6" at that. The length dimension in the product's online manual states the sleeve fits up to a 380mm length....well mine is 383mm and it fits fine. Also, there was a sticker on the packaging, under where it said 15.4", that simply said '39cm'. So from this I would say you're safe to assume it fits any 15.4-15.6" widescreen laptop. I see it is also available in smaller sizes for smaller laptops/notebooks. I should also note that I paid the full RRP price and think it is worth every last penny. You won't regret it either.
